How it works
Everything you can do on AI Film Studio, step by step β from your first line to a published film world.
What is AI Film Studio?
AI Film Studio is a collaborative home for filmmakers and writers. Write screenplays in proper industry format, design characters, locations and maps, build a Series Bible into a public World, board your scenes as a Storyboard, assemble a Movie with cast, crew and financing, and publish any of it for the world to read, watch and adopt β solo or with a team.
Write a screenplay
Open the Studio and click + New Screenplay. The element bar has every Hollywood block β Scene Heading, Action, Character, Dialogue, Parenthetical, Transition, Shot, Montage, Flashback, Voice Over. Click a block to insert its styled header, type your text, and press Enter to jump straight into the content in the right style (a Character cue flows into Dialogue, a Scene Heading into Action).
Import an existing script
Already have a script? Click β© Import and drop in a Fountain (.fountain/.txt) or Final Draft (.fdx) file β or just paste Fountain text. Elements are detected automatically; preview them, then create the screenplay. You can also export any screenplay back to Fountain from the editor.
Characters
Group your cast and give each character full detail β name, role, age, gender, traits, description, backstory and an avatar. Click a characterβs name to drop it into the script as a Character cue, exactly like the βSaysβ button in Dialogs.
Locations
Keep a reusable library of locations grouped however you like, then insert a properly formatted Scene Heading in one click. Consistent slug lines, no retyping.
Maps
Draw your world by hand β mountains, forests, rivers, seas, cities and roads β or import a real map image as the background. Add named points with an avatar, image and description; a click reveals the info. Store several maps and attach them to your Series Bible.
Beat Sheet
Plan structure on a timeline. Add plotlines, then place beat blocks along the line β drag to reposition, drag a corner to resize, and blocks push each other so they never overlap. Zoom the timeline with +/β, and jump to any minute with βGo to timeβ.
Series Bible & Worlds
Turn your lore into a Series Bible β write blocks, add a poster and attach maps. Switch on Post to Worlds to publish it as a public World, complete with its characters. Anyone can hit Use World to start a new screenplay from it (Bible, Maps and Characters imported); their new characters flow back onto the original world, credited to them.
Storyboard
Board every shot: upload an image, set scene/shot numbers, duration, description, camera, lighting, props and an audio track β and add your own custom fields (Costumes, FX, β¦). Leave crew notes and threaded replies on any shot. Open View Storyboard to page through it, play the audio, and Auto play shot-by-shot by each shotβs duration.
Killcomix
Tick Post Storyboard to Killcomix and your storyboard becomes a public comic. Guests page through the images, read the descriptions and hit play β audio carries across shots, and Auto play runs it like a motion comic.
Teams & Crews
Create a team, define roles and invite people by email. Fine-grained permissions control who can read, reply, edit the screenplay or storyboard, invite, see financing or edit the bible. Make it an Open Team so anyone can join from your public Crew page, run a members-only crew discussion, and post vacancies under βWantedβ.
Movies & financing
Build a Movie from a screenplay β poster, synopsis, genre, cast and crew. Track per-member payments and a running total, visible only to those you allow. Write a Pitch and publish the movie to the homepage.
Share privately
Use Share (β) in the editor to mint a read-only link thatβs valid for 7 days. Add a note and email it straight to a recipient β they read the full screenplay page, no account needed.
Publish everywhere
Choose where your work appears: Post to Wall lists it in the Screenplay Library, Post to Worlds publishes your Series Bible, Post to Crews shows your team, Post Storyboard to Killcomix shares your boards, and Blog / Learning posts reach the community feeds.
Clone, adopt & transfer
Clone a screenplay to reuse only its Characters, Locations, Maps and Series Bible with a fresh script. Mark a published script Open for adoption so others can take it on (both authors are credited), or Transfer the rights to hand it over entirely.
Blog & Learning
Write blog posts and learning guides with a rich editor, cover image, tags and optional links to a screenplay or movie. Tags act as filters, posts appear on your profile and the community pages, and every post has a share link.
